Satoshi Kon passed away at age 47 today, it makes me sad because he still had alot of great stuff to share with us. Still he left a great legacy with his works.

So, what´s the deal with the Llama thingy ? I´ve seen alot of peaplo bitchin´ for them, honestly I don´t understand how they work, probably cuz I don´t care about it, but still I´m curious.

HAPPY MARKETING´S DAY !!!!!!

This year happened alot of things to me, both good and bad, I worked on several cool projects with really talented people, my cats became parents of two beautiful kittens (which are living happily at a farm outside the noisy city), my xbox died on me one week after the warranty ended (spent almost four months without it), I was hit by a car (again) but wasn´t injured (badly), spent quality time with my friends (believe it or not I´ve never been a very social person), finally got my hands on a Cintiq 12wx, and last but not least, found that special someone which has been a great support in my life for the past few months.

I always say "what a sucky year this was", but while reviewing 2009 I noticed I had a blast this year, I hope next one be the same, not just for me, but for all of you.

I hate xmas eve, I have nothing againts the holiday itself, it´s just that all the shit that happens around it is both stressing and depressing. I thought this year would be different because of all the changes in my life, but it looks like it will stay the same.

Yesterday, my most trusted and beloved friend passed away, he lost a battle againts overload energy charges and after 5 years now he will rest in peace (or pieces) along many other CRT monitors, sigh. Damn, I loved my 21´ Viewsonic G90f CRT monitor, yes I´ve always liked CRT over LCD monitors most, but nobody else sells them anymore so this morning I´ve finally finished upgrading my workspace with a 21.5´ Samsung Syncmaster 2233SN, although I´m not a big fan of LCDs I must say the picture quality on this monitor is really nice, has alot of contrast/brightness/gamma settings that -I assume- will make the calibration easier. Right now I still need to adjust the Red channel and I believe I´ll get this baby rocking in a couple of hours.

sigh, I still miss my old CRT monitor.

Anyway, I´ve also made up my mind and will take the next important step in my life and buy a Wacom Cintiq, however I don´t know which one to get, the 12 or 21 model.

Well, after playing the game for almost two weeks now all I can say is that this is the WORST game in the Call of Duty series (Although it has no longer the title on it), once I finish the campaign I´ll sell this and forget about it.

Good thing I received an invitation from EA-Dice to play the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta on PS3 can´t wait til March 2nd.

Just got my copy last night, played for a while, the campaign looks ok so far, and the multiplayer is the same as the first game, however I can´t believe the stupid thing Infinity Ward did when cancelling the Xbox Live Party Chat option while playing MP matchs, I usually play with 4-5 friends, and it´s ok since the team is complete, but when at the game lobby, if others listen our chat the begin bitching about our language, I can´t believe there are still alot of american racist noobs out there ! I´m hoping Infinity Ward change this ASAP, I have no problem playing with people who don´t speak my own language, but it really pisses me alot playing with stupid racists.

It´s official, my life sucks, in a big way, at least I have tons and tons of work which helps me keep my mind busy and stop thinking stupid things.

"TOO EXPENSIVE!" exclaimed not just one but many people who have asked me for commissions via notes or e-mails, one of the reasons I don´t open commission slots publicly is because I´m tired of reading this kind of comments, and there have been a couple of guys who shout insults at me because of my rates, it´s really discouraging when these kind of persons contact me, don´t get me wrong, I do commissions (even free collabs) from time to time, IF my schedule allow me to do so that is, but it really pisses me alot when other people don´t respect what you do for a living, I know I´m not one of those fancy, famous colorists who work for the two big companies in the industry, but that´s ok because I´m glad with what I do right now coloring children books for a couple of publishers not just in the U.S.A. but in Europe as well, and thanks to them I get to pay my bills on time, but just because I´m not famous it doesn´t mean people can come and shout stupid things at me, and I know this is not just with me but with alot of really talented artists.

I´ve seen some of them that are open for commissions and usually 95% of the comments are "oh, if I had money I could ask you for one", "it´s too expensive, I can´t afford that", "I´m not paying for anything I could get for free", and stuff like that. Guys, really, it´s really discouraging reading those comments, if you don´t have money or think the rates are too expensive, then AVOID POSTING THESE COMMENTS !!!! Please, I´m really asking you to respect all artist and what we do FOR A LIVING.

"QUE P**NCHE CARERO ERES!!!" Exclamó no solo una sino varias personas quienes me han contactado por notas o e-mails preguntando por precios para comisiones de color, una de las razones por las cuales no hago público lo de las comisiones es por este tipo de comentarios, y lo peor es que varios hasta me han insultado al darles el precio, realmente se siente de la chingada cuando este tipo de personas me contactan, y bueno no me malinterpreten, a mi me gusta hacer comisiones (hasta colaboraciones) de vez en cuando, eso SI mi horario me lo permite, pero realmente encabrona que la gente no respete lo que uno hace para ganarse la vida, soy conciente que no seré uno de esos famosos supercoloristas que trabajan para las dos grandes empresas, pero no me preocupa porque estoy contento trabajándole a unas editoriales tanto gringas como europas coloreando libros infantiles, y gracias a ellos puedo pagar a tiempo todas mis cuentas, PERO solo porque alguien no sea famoso ni reconocido no significa que tengamos por que aguantar esta clase de insultos, inclusive hay artistas talentosísimos quienes padecen lo mismo.

En ocasiones veo que muchos de estos grandes talentos abren espacios para comisiones y el 95% de los comentarios que les dejan es de "si tuviese dinero te pediria uno", "está muy caro, no me alcanza", "no voy a pagar por algo que me saldría gratis" y cosas similares. Chicos, en serio, es muy molesto para uno leer este tipo de comentarios, si no tienen dinero o creen que uno cobra demasiado, pues EVITEN HACER ESTA CLASE DE COMENTARIOS !!! Porfavor, les pido que respeten no solo a los artistas sino tambien a lo que hacen para poder ganarse la vida.
